FAQs
What Does Xpact Provide?
Xpact delivers online 1-to-1 mentoring and alternative provision for children, young people, and adults. We specialise in emotional wellbeing, confidence-building, SEN identity support, and social/communication development. Gaming is used as an engagement tool—not the focus—but a familiar, low-demand space where trust, conversation and growth can happen naturally.
How Is Xpact Different To Therapy?
Xpact is not a therapeutic or clinical service. We provide mentoring, alternative provision, emotional support, guidance, and positive role-modelling through a relational, person-led approach. Young people and adults we support open up at their own pace while feeling safe, respected, and free from pressure. Our sessions often act as early intervention, or as long-term relational support alongside school or other provision.
Can Xpact Count As Alternative Provision?
- struggle to attend school
- require EOTAS provision
- need low demand learning environments
- need consistent relational support
- require SEN understanding
- benefit from digital, interest-led approaches
How Does The Online Mentoring Work?
Sessions are delivered virtually through gaming platforms or video/voice/text chat depending on what the young person prefers. Mentors meet young people “where they are”, using games or shared interests to build rapport, support reflection, encourage communication, and foster positive emotional development. Over time, support happens organically and naturally through play, discussion, and shared tasks.

Can Xpact Provide Long Term Support?
Absolutely. Some individuals benefit from a few months of mentoring, while many thrive with sustained support over years. Our Progression Package is specifically designed for long-term engagement, allowing strong relationships, consistent guidance, and meaningful personal development—particularly for young people in care, those experiencing trauma, or those needing stable adult connection.
What Type Of Needs Can Xpact Support?
Xpact works with young people with SEN, SEMH needs, ADHD, Autism, PDA, anxiety, trauma, school avoidance, identity struggles, care experience, social communication challenges and anyone who would benefit from support and guidance. We tailor support to each person’s pace and preferences.
Do All Sessions Involve Gaming?
No. Gaming is an option—not a requirement. Some young people prefer creative projects, chat-based sessions, digital art, or structured skill-building instead.
What Outcomes Can Mentoring Achieve?
Mentoring can support confidence, emotional regulation, communication skills, resilience, reduce anxiety, identity exploration, school reintegration, improved online awareness, and stronger relationships. It can assist with transitions, support day to day functioning, promote emotional and social wellbeing.
What Equipment Is Required?
A device (console, computer, tablet or phone) and a stable internet connection. We will guide you on platform setup.
Can You Provide Evidence For Reviews, funding Requests, or EHCP Updates?
Yes. Professional reports are included with the Foundation and Progression packages and can support EHCP reviews, PEP meetings, and EOTAS applications.
Does Xpact Work With Schools & Local Authorities?
Yes. We partner with schools, specialist provisions and local authorities across the UK, delivering mentoring, alternative provision, early intervention, and long-term support.
How Soon Will I See Progress?
Every person is different. Some show early improvements in communication or confidence; others make progress gradually. Our focus is long-term, relational, steady support.
What If The Mentor Match Doesn't Feel Right?
Let us know. We will review the fit and, if required, rematch the young person with another mentor.
